Meet Jacqueline
Dr Jacqueline Widmer is a leadership and transformational coach with a unique blend of expertise in clinical psychology and executive development. With a solid background in mental health, she leverages psychological insights to help leaders unlock their full potential, enhance emotional intelligence, and build resilient, high performing teams. Drawing from over 20 years of clinical experience, she specializes in guiding leaders through personal and professional challenges, fostering self-awareness, and creating a healthy, productive work environment. Passionate about empowering people to lead with authenticity and empathy, she is dedicated to transforming leadership at every level.
Since 2022, Jacqueline collaborates with the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and YPO Next Generation (YNG) to deliver forum trainings and retreats throughout the EMEA region. She also works with corporate organizations who want to establish and run forum/peer circle programs for their teams.
Jacqueline holds a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and worked over 20 years both in the clinical and academic domain.
She gained an incredible understanding of how the mind works while conducting therapy and supervising junior psychologists in various clinical settings, ranging from University counseling centers to psychiatric hospitals.
As a University lecturer, she is a strong believer in science-based approaches. Disillusioned by the insufficient improvements gained with traditional psychiatric methods and concerned that the mental health field placed the burden of the disease on the individual, Jacqueline turned to couple therapy as a way to help her clients live a better, fuller, happier life.
She trained in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT), an approach considered to be the gold standard in the field. This brought her to be uniquely interested in how we can create a better life for ourselves by improving and deepening our significant relationships, whether they are personal or professional in nature.
With that in mind, she further brought her consulting experience and knowledge of the human mind to her work with business leaders and enjoys working with C-level executives, rising leaders, and family businesses. As a Positive Intelligence (PQ) Coach, she engages with her clients in impactful one-on-one coaching and team building sessions that focus on leadership and team development, personal transformation, and culture building.
Global Perspective
Originally from French-speaking Switzerland, Jacqueline left her hometown of Geneva to pursue graduate studies in New York. She spent the last twenty years of her life in different regions of the world before settling in her current home base in Cyprus.
She has held clinical and academic positions in places as diverse as New York, Geneva, Dubai, Zurich and Cyprus. Her professional journey has led her through hospital wards, university auditoriums, and corporate meeting rooms.
Growing up in a bilingual environment and adding more languages wherever her relocations took her, she is fluent in English, French and German and has a decent conversational knowledge of Greek and Italian.
YPO Certification
As a Certified Forum Facilitator, I have undergone specialized training and certification through the Young Presidents’ Organization to facilitate YPO forums effectively. Within these forums, YPO members come together to share experiences, exchange ideas, and provide support to one another in a trusted environment.
As a licensed therapist and couple counsellor, I have always been committed to helping individuals and couples navigate the complexities of their personal and professional relationships. My involvement with YPO serves as a bridge between my extensive experience in clinical psychology and my desire to empower business owners and co-founders.
With this unique perspective, I can assist my clients in not only revitalizing their personal relationships but also in supercharging their business partnerships. By leveraging the wisdom gained from YPO, I can guide them to foster trust, enhance communication, and drive their organizations toward thriving success.
